ANGELO M. ACCIARDO JR

87, a lifelong resident of Johnston, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Ida (Russo) Acciardo. They were married for 62 years. He was born in Johnston, a son of the late Angelo and Rose (DiLullo) Acciardo. Angelo formerly worked for Forest Hills Nursery. He was the Co-owner of Acciardo Bros. Inc. and the owner of A. Acciardo Construction. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Local 57 since 1947, International Union of Operating Engineers, United Commercial Travelers (U.C.T) and a member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society in Cranston. He took great pride in his specialty as a Grader Operator. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, a gentle man, whose smile left an everlasting impression on all those who knew him. Angelo was also a true Johnston Panthers fan.

Besides his beloved wife he is survived by his loving children; A. Michael "Mickey" Acciardo and his wife Melody of Cranston, Paula Acciardo of Johnston and Joseph Acciardo of Johnston. Angelo was also the cherished grandfather of Michael Acciardo and his wife Ali , Mia Acciardo , Christopher Ballirano, Joseph Acciardo and was the brother of Vincent, Albert "Tuffy", Raymond and Ernest Acciardo, Ann Corrente, Virginia Salzillo and Rose Grasso. He was also the father of the late Steven Acciardo and the brother of the late Thomas, Carl, Louis, Pasco and Ralph Acciardo.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Interment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 5-8 pm.
