AMERICO DOMENICO-LUCIO TESTA

83, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Elisabetta (Girardi) Testa. Born in Prata Sannita, Provincia Caserta, Italy. He was the son of the late Carlo and Maria (Storti) Testa. Americo was the owner & operator of Americo D. Testa Building Company, Inc. for many years, before retiring in 1984.

He was a hard working, kind-hearted selfless person who always put others first. He housed several immigrant Italian families until they were able to become self-sufficient. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, cultivating his numerous olive & fig trees, playing bocce and cards especially "Scopa".

His favorite pass-time was spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the founder & president of the Santa Maria di Prata Society; which he established in 1986 and a member of the Madonna della Civita Society. Toward the latter part of his life, he held numerous fundraisers. All donations went toward the renovation of his hometown church and toward the construction of the Santa Maria di Prata Society.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of AnnMarie DiBiasio and her husband Arcangelo, Carlo Testa and his wife Robin, Americo Testa and his wife Luana, and Elisabeth Lucia Testa. He was the loving grandfather of Angelo DiBiasio, Michelle McGreevy, Americo and Ashley Testa, and Jayden and Michael Testa; loving great-grandfather of Andrew, Sofia and Amelia DiBiasio, Liliana and Natalia McGreevy; dear brother of Giovannina Lanni, Giuseppina Pellegrino and the late Lucia Riccio.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Ave. Johnston at 10 a.m.

Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, in Cranston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
