AMERICO DiMASCIO, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on October 6, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, on Christmas day 1937, Americo was the son of the late Francesco and Maria Luisa DiMascio.

Americo immigrated to the U.S. in 1971 settling in Federal Hill, Providence before moving to Johnston three years ago.  He was the husband of the late Flora (Ricci) DiMascio.  They took great pride tending to their large vegetable garden and various fruit trees.  Americo loved history and recounting stories of Italy. Prior to his retirement, Americo had been employed by Colonial Knife, Providence for many years.

Americo was the father of five children, Francesco DiMascio and his wife Rosmery of Johnston, Rosella Ricciardi and her husband Paul of Scituate, Charles DiMascio of Johnston, Loredana Walker and her husband James of Exeter, and Roberto DiMascio and his wife Maria Mercedes of Providence. Cherished Papa to his thirteen grandchildren, Angelica Penta and her husband Michael, Letizia DiMascio and her fiancé Eric Nelson, Briana Duffy and her husband Joseph, Alison, Victoria and Gianna Ricciardi, Kristina and Charles Michael DiMascio, Samantha Boisvert and her husband Kyle, Alexandra and Andrew Walker, Dario and Sofia DiMascio and seven great-grandchildren.

Americo was the youngest of seven children.  He was predeceased by his brothers Giovanni DiMascio and Silvano DiMascio and his sisters Gina DiMascio, Elvira Centofanti, Dora DelMonaco and Irma DelMonaco and his granddaughter Stephanie DiMascio.  He leaves his brother-in-law Raffaele DelMonaco of NY and sisters-in-law Concetta DiMascio of Johnston and Rosa Gelsomini of Italy. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the team at Nursing Placement for their exceptional care and support. We would especially thank Sandra Quinones for taking good care of our dad.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston at 11 a.m.  Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
