Alice graduated from Portia Law School in 1938 and practiced law in Massachusetts before marrying and moving to Rhode Island in 1943. Along with her husband she owned and operated the Wheeler Drug Store in Cranston. In 1971 she graduated from URI, a member of the pioneer class of its Continuing Education for Women program. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration where she was a lay reader and member of its Senior Women's Group. During her lifetime, she also served as a volunteer and member of the Board of Directors of Saint Elizabeth Home, a Camp Fire Girl leader, and a member of the Senior Citizens group at Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Church.
The most important things in her life were her faith, her family and her friends, followed closely by her love for her pets. She was an avid reader and devoted Red Sox fan. For close to 70 years, she also enjoyed the love and friendship of her pinochle card group family.
Alice was the devoted mother of Nancy R. Veznaian of Boston, MA, Barbara J. Veznaian of Warwick, RI, Mary Veznaian of Arlington, MA and the late Judith A. Veznaian who died in infancy; dear sister-in-law of Gertrude Avedisian of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Margaret Surabian of Beverley Hills, MI; and loving aunt of several nieces and nephews. She was the dear sister of the late Elizabeth, Lillian and Vahan Surabian.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in Church of the Transfiguration, 1665 Broad St., Cranston. Interment will be at North Burial Ground in Providence. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
