ALFRED MADDALENA

92, of Foster, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Bray) Maddalena. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Merrola) Maddalena. Mr. Maddalena was a dispatcher for the US Government at the US Naval Air Station, Quonset Point for twenty-four years before retiring in 1970. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. Mr. Maddalena is survived by his daughter Emily May Maddalena Zincone of Foster. He was the grandfather of Anthony P. DiMuccio, Jr. and Elizabeth A. (DiMuccio) D'Amico. and the great-grandfather of Anthony P. DiMuccio, III. Alfred was the brother of Nick Maddalena of Cranston, Vincent Maddalena of Brockton, MA, Angelina DiRobbio of Cranston, Phyllis Fannara of Warwick, Marguerite Caruolo of Warwick and the late Carmino and Joseph Maddalena. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight Street, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
