ALFRED J. LURGIO

Alfred J. Lurgio, 78, of Warwick, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family Sunday, May 8, 2011. He was the loving husband of Joan U. (Pinelli) Lurgio, they had been married for 55 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Alfred and Jennie (Schroth) Lurgio. He attended Central High School and moved to Warwick in 1966. Mr. Lurgio worked for Star Window Cleaning until starting Al's Window Cleaning in 1955. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Besides his wife he is survived by his two children: Donald A. Lurgio and his wife Mary of Foster and Joanne M. Lurgio of Warwick. He was the loving grandfather of Joseph M., Chase M. and Aidan U. Lurgio and was the brother of the late Jennie Gazerro and Melvin Lurgio. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave.Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict's Church Warwick at 10am.
