Alfred L. Bassett

85, lifelong resident of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve (Chrostowski) Bassett. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Orcutt) Bassett. Mr. Bassett was a quality control inspector for over 40 years before retiring. After which he continued to work as a security officer into his 70’s. Alfred and Genevieve were married for 60 years. He celebrated 45 years of sobriety; AA was very important in his life. Alfred loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time on the beach, boating, and fishing. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Alfred will always be remembered for his loving advice and amazing smile.

Alfred is survived by his two loving daughters, Brenda Bassett and her husband Joseph D. Pannozzi II of North Attleboro, and Elizabeth Bassett of Providence. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph D. Pannozzi III. Brother of William, Joseph, George, Kenneth Bassett, and the late Robert and John Bassett.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 19th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial is respectfully omitted.
