Alfred J. Barone Sr. 78, of Plainfield Pike, Johnston, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Gloria (Iannuccilli) Barone. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (DeFusco) Barone. Mr. Barone was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was the assistant director of maintenance for the Johnston School Department for 11 years, retiring in 1991. He also worked for Campanella Brothers Construction Company of Massachusetts for 18 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Alfred J. Barone, Jr. and his companion Deborah Rossi of Johnston, and Diane M. Hatton and her companion Walter Farman of Johnston; his loving grandchildren, Christine and Jason Kempe, and Kimberly Hatton and her companion Nicholas Masso; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Lyndsay Kempe. He was the brother of Rose Cimino and Anna Macera, both of Cranston, and the late Domenic Barone, Peter Barone, Jr., Lillian Mancini and Dorothy Iannelli. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
