92, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Morgan Health Care Center in Johnston surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Vincenza R. (Zabatta ) Pecchia for 60 years.
Born in Cranston he was the son of the late Raffaele and Angelina (Soscia) Pecchia. Alfonso worked at Stop & Shop in Warwick for ten years, before retiring. He previously worked for the former United Wire Company of Cranston for forty years. He was a former member of the Oaklawn Senior Citizens and the Scituate Vista Association. He was the beloved father of Ralph A. Pecchia and his wife Ann of Cranston, Alphonse Pecchia and his wife Theresa of West Warwick and Maria Wilson and her husband Tom of Cranston; loving grandfather of eight; and loving great-grandfather of nine; and loving great-great grandfather of one; dear brother of Anthony Pecchia of Cranston, Paul Pecchia of Cranston, Mary Stad of Rumford, and the late John, Ralph, Domenic and Sergio Pecchia. Fonce was known for his love of family, sparkling blue eyes and his wonderful smile. He was loved by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church 1525 Cranston St. Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston VISITING HOURS Tuesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 220 North Main Street, Suite 104 Natick, MA. 01760.
