ALEXANDER UVA

84, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of fifty-four years to Virginia D. (Wilson) Uva. Born in Mansfield, MA, he was a son of the late Nunzio and Florence (DiPietro) Uva. Alexander was a clerk at Stop & Shop for twenty-three years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge in Smithfield, and the Smithfield Senior Center.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughters, Kathleen Rossoni and her husband Patrick, and Elaine Willard, all of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael and Eric Rossoni, and Alexandra Willard, Alexander was the great-grandfather of Tessa. He was the brother of Ralph Uva of Mansfield, MA, and the late Helen Uva and Mary Guarino Werner.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
