Alexander Sinapi, Jr.

May 1, 1930 — September 10, 2023

Alexander Sinapi, Jr.

93 of Warwick passed away Sunday September 10, 2023, at West Shore Health Center, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband and soulmate of his wife Joyce for 45 years.  Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Alexander and Eva (Mariorenzi) Sinapi, Sr.  Alexander was a carpenter for A. DeAngelis Construction Company for many years before retiring and was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted and loving father of Alexis M. Smith of Warwick, Richard A. Sinapi of Warwick, Joseph J. Sinapi, Sr. and his wife Carolyn of Cranston, Debra J. Naylor of Port St. Lucie Florida, Donna J. Amaral of East Providence and the late Andrew J. Sinapi; loving grandfather of Percy and Alexander Smith, Anthony, Alexander and Mia Sinapi, Amanda Bell, Tiffany Mallard, Talia and Joseph Sinapi, and Allen Fortier; loving great-grandfather of seven.  He was the dear brother of Marie DeAngelis.

“Pops” was a craftsman who loved his work and could be frequently seen in his “Pops Garage” workshop repairing or designing and producing toys, desks, chairs, jewelry boxes, and the like for his family, particularly, his grandchildren.  He was a devout and humble man who never had a bad word to say about anyone.  He never complained and took life as it came, accepting every personal challenge or obligation as his duty with quiet dignity.  Even when his health and cognitive abilities had seriously deteriorated, his only concern was that he not be a burden to his family and that his wife was safe and cared for.  His duty was his guide to the end.  A member of the Greatest Generation, we could use more like him.  He will be missed.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Rose & Clement Parish, 111 Long Street Warwick at 11 am.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours are MONDAY MORNING from 9 am to 10 am.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 505 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 would be appreciated.
