ALEXANDER SALO

Salo, Alexander, 98, of Atwood Ave., Johnston passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Jane Brown Unit of R.I. Hospital, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Palumbo) Salo for 71 years. He was born in the Ukraine, a son of the late John and Catherine Salo. He came to this country 90 years ago and had resided in Johnston for the past 75 years. Mr. Salo was the founder of Salo Construction Co. of Johnston and was a communicant of St. Rocco's Church. Beside his wife he is survived by his children; Wayne Salo and his wife Louise of Cranston and Paula Mainelli and her husband Robert of Johnston. He was the grandfather of Jennifer, Tara, Jason, Scott, Jadra and Eric and great grandfather of 8. He was the brother of Andrew Salo of Seattle, WA and the late Michael, Charles, Jack and Joseph Salo, Anthony Sallo and Anna Campbell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10am in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Entombment in St. Ann's Cemetery will be private. Kindly omit flowers.
