77, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at RI Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Annette M. (Tagliaferri) Saccoccio. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Alexander and Almarinda (Taglione) Saccoccio. Mr. Saccoccio was a carpenter and worked for his family business Saccoccio and Sons for many years. Afterwards he was a carpenter for Bryant College for many years before retiring. Alexander was a former president at the Kelley-Gazzerro VFW Post 2812, a former president of the Laborer’s Union at Bryant College, and a coach for Bryant College’s hockey team for many years. He was an avid sports player and was a state champion for playing horseshoes. Alexander was a US army national guard veteran serving during Vietnam.
He is survived by his loving children, Sherri Charlsen and David Saccoccio both of Providence. He was the cherished grandfather of Chelsey Parton, Krystal Saccoccio, Tristin Charlsen, and Zackary Saccoccio. He was also the cherished great-grandfather of Karson, Hayden, Domenic, and Layla. Alexander was the brother of Caryl Saccoccio and her companion Bernie Stack of Cranston, Carl Saccoccio and his wife Tammy Lederer of Chepachet, Jean LaMarre and her husband Steve LaMarre of North Providence and the late Louis Saccoccio.
His funeral is respectfully omitted. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 3rd.
