Alex E. Mazika, Jr.

 78, of Cranston, R.I. unexpectedly entered into eternal life on July 11, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving wife Maureen of 55 years, and his entire family. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Vescera) Mazika. He was born in Providence, son of the late Alex “Jackson” E. Mazika, Sr. and Florence (Ferrara) Mazika. He graduated Hope High School in 1964 and attended Providence College. He was a man of integrity having served in the 196 Light Infantry Brigade where he won highest proficiency in F troop. Alex founded A.E. Mazika Insurance Inc. in North Providence in 1975. Alex enjoyed traveling with his wife and extended family, learning about various cultures, spending time in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, skiing, going to the gun range, taking long walks, and reading. Besides his wife Maureen, he is survived by his loving children Gina Mazika, Alissa Labonte and her husband Ron, and Alex Mazika III and his fiancé Claudia Carvalho. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Tiffany, Kevin, and Amanda Coletta, Isabella and Lucas Labonte, Alex IV and Ava Mazika. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 17th at 10am at the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, 30 Fenner St., Providence. Burial will be private, and Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or the Rhode Island Hospital Cancer Center.
