92, of Briggs Street, Cranston, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cranston. He was the husband of the late Helen (Stefano) DelBonis and the father of the late Dr. Stephen Sowinski. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Carlo and Maria (Stammegna) DelBonis. Mr. DelBonis was a truck driver for various companies in New Jersey for over thirty years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Teamsters Union in New Jersey. Albert was a US Army veteran serving during WW II and a member of St. Mary's Feast Society. He was the grandfather of Michael and Lourdes Sowinski and the late Stephen Sowinski and the great-grandfather of Stephen and Christopher Sowinski. Albert was the brother of Clara Madeline DelBonis, Pauline Tramonti both of Cranston and the late James, John, Joseph, Salvatore, Anthony and Armando "Tony" DelBonis, Laura Palazzo, Louise Magliocco and Mary "Margie" Palazzo. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
