ALBERT E. TARTAGLIA

He was the brother of the late Anthony Tartaglia, Micalina Macaree, Eleanor Iavarone, Carmella Tartaglia, Rosina Spencer and Angelina Cilius.

Albert worked in the automotive industry for 38 years and later was an insurance adjuster for 11 years, until retiring in 1987. His first job was on a milk truck at 11 years old to help support his elderly parents and siblings.

An Army veteran of WW-II, Albert very proudly served with the 83rd Infantry Division taking part in the landing at Normandy on D Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and the liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp in Munich, Germany. He was the recipient of many medals and citations including the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He served in Normandy, Ardennes, Brittany, Rhineland and Central Europe.

He was an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Eileen and Salvatore Savona of Clifton Park, NY and Marianne and Alan Litwin of Providence, RI. He took joy in spending time with his four grandchildren and two great grand children.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. VISITING HOURS are SATURDAY MORNING from 8-9 a.m. ADDITIONAL VISITING HOURS at the home of Marianne and Alan Litwin on SUNDAY from 5-8 p.m.
