90, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years to Edith E. (Santagata) Rossi. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Edward and Assunta (Carcieri) Rossi. Albert was a manager for the former US Rubber Company (Uniroyal) in Providence for twenty-seven years before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. Albert was an avid coin, stamp, and baseball card collector. Albert especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Albert E. Rossi, Jr. and his wife Betty of Zephyrhills, FL, Joseph R. Rossi and his wife Dore of Johnston, David E. Rossi of Cranston, and Gail Marie Rossi of Tampa, FL. Albert was the cherished grandfather of Brett, David, Jared, and Jennica, and the great-grandfather of Gabriela. He was the brother of Anthony Rossi, Louis Rossi, and Edward Rossi all of Johnston, and the late Joseph Rossi, Daniel Rossi, and Anna DeQuatro.
His funeral service with Military Honors will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Inurnment will be private. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826.
