Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 86. Albert and his wife Joanne (Cola) DiFilippo were married for over 50 years, sharing a lifetime of memories. Born in Providence to the late Albert and Clementina (Morelli) DiFilippo, Albert was a lifelong resident of Rhode Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving sons, Kevin John Napolillo and Albert DiFilippo and four cherished grandchildren.
Albert was very proud to be a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Providence Water Supply Board for over 30 years before retiring. In addition to spending time with family during his retirement, he loved caring for his vegetable garden and enjoyed spending time at his Italian Social club playing Bocce with friends.
Albert battled with Leukemia for 10 years with his wife advocating and ensuring the best medical support for him. Many may not have realized his struggles because of his resilience and strength. He never let it hold him back from living his life.
He was generous with his time, always willing to help his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all of us. May he rest in peace, knowing that his memory will shine brightly in those that knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
