ALAN R. MESSERLIAN

ALAN R. MESSERLIAN, 62, of Sauga Avenue, "Shore Acres" North Kingstown, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family after a two year battle with mesothelioma. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Jo-Ann (Bisbano) Messerlian.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Dr. Arshag N. and Anna H. (Kalunian) Messerlian, he lived in Cranston, before moving to North Kingstown in 1972.
Alan was a senior adjuster in the subrogation unit of MetLife Auto and Home for the past 15 years. Over the course of his lifetime, he founded and operated many successful businesses. They were ALART Custom Framing Company, LA CHOPPERS Custom Motorcycle Shop, ALME Automotive of East Greenwich, and Eagle Appraisal Services in Cranston. Alan's passions were spending time with his family, boating, fishing and shooting at the range. He was a member of FOP Lodge #33, Salt Water Anglers, and National Rifle Association.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Paula A. Schartner and her husband Richard of North Kingstown, Heather A. Longo and her husband Jason of Cranston, and Amy D. Messerlian of North Kingstown; loving grandfather of Olivia and Gabriella Longo, and Jack, Madilyn and Tyler Schartner; dear brother of Carole A. Semonian and her husband Suren of Scituate; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
