92, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Good Samaritan Health Center in Kissimmee, FL. He was the beloved husband of the late Adrina (Danielian) Baligian. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Garabed and Margaret (Sarkissian) Baligian.
Nooni was a professional violinist for 60 years retiring in 2000 and a piano tuner technician for over 50 years retiring in 2005. He was a violinist with the RI Philharmonic Orchestra and principal 2nd violinist for 16 years; a violinist with the RI Civic Chorale Orchestra; the Warwick Musical Theater; and Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. He was also co-owner of the former Margaret's Candy Shop in Providence and Cranston for 15 years until 1971. He was a Musician 1st Class in the U. S. Navy during WW-II, and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church; Doric Lodge No.38 AF&AM and the Shriners in Cranston; Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Santa Fe, NM; Ballut Abyad Temple, Albuquerque, NM; Order of Eastern Star; a member of the Piano Technicians Guild for over 35 years, and was a Life Member of Providence Federation of Musicians Local 198-457. Nooni and his wife Adrina volunteered at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence for many years.
He was the devoted father of Arlin G. Baligian and his wife Patricia of Orlando, FL and Aleta Heidt and her husband William of Warwick; loving grandfather of Adam Baligian and his wife Krissy and April Erb and her husband Cody; and loving great-grandfather of Athen Baligian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, followed by interment with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
