A 1940 graduate of Hunter College in New York at the age of 19, Mrs. Vartanian was an elementary school teacher in Cumberland for 19 years. She was a member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church and its Senior Citizens Group; a member of the ADK, Cumberland Chapter; and the Cumberland Teacher's Association.
Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Loretta Najarian and her husband Richard of Coventry, Robert J. Vartanian and his wife Lynn of Woonsocket and Thomas H. Vartanian and his wife Nancy of Otis Field, ME; loving grandmother of Melissa Orlando, Thomas H. Vartanian, Jr., Brian Vartanian, Susan Vartanian, Eric Vartanian, Stephen Najarian and the late David Najarian; and loving great-grandmother of nine. She was the dear sister of the late Alice Kayan, Ann Bargamian and Mary Sanossian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday at 10 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, followed by interment at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. VISITING HOURS are THURSDAY from 4-7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
