ADOLPH D. AURECCHIA

95, of Smithfield, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Jean (DiBello) Aurecchia. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Antonio Aurecchia and Eufrasia (Iannuccilli) Aurecchia.

Adolph is survived by his son Dr. Steven Aurecchia and his partner, William Dukstein, of Chevy Chase, Maryland. He is also survived by his sister Delmazia Cute of Hollywood, Florida; brothers Americo and Albert Aurecchia of Johnston; and brother Dean Aurecchia of Arlington, Virginia. He was also the brother of the late Walter and Luigi Aurecchia; Elissa Okerblom; and Anna DiRaimo.

Mr. Aurecchia was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the American Theater of Operations during the Second World War. He was a long time member and past Commander the Kelley-Gazzero VFW Post in Cranston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 14th at 9:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Johnston, followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
