86, of Redwood Dr., Narragansett and formerly of Salem Dr., North Providence, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at South County Hospital in Wakefield. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Mary C. (Montaquila) Gianquitti. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rose (Cicerone) Gianquitti. Adolf was the owner of Adolf's Meat Market on Federal Hill for over 50 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Ann's Church in Providence and the Knights of Columbus. A devoted family man, he was also devoted to his community as past chairman of the Providence 13th Ward Democratic Committee; sponsored Little League teams; and gave generously to many charitable organizations. Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Linda Ernst and her husband Russell and Raymond Gianquitti and his wife Kathleen, all of Narragansett and the late Lois Dandeneau and her husband Joseph Dandeneau of North Providence; loving grandfather of Jennifer Dech, Kristen Ernst, Jason Dandeneau and Sara Ernst; loving great-grandfather of Abigail Dech; and dear brother of Nicholas Gianquitti of Ohio, Lucio Gianquitti of Providence, Zina DiMitri of Lincoln, Vilma Corsi of Cranston and the late Mary Caturo and Joseph Gianquitti. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt.1A), Narragansett, VISITING HOURS SUNDAY 3-6 p.m. prior to service.
