ACHILLE "ARCHIE" GUERCIA

90, of New London Ave., Cranston, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Caliri) Guercia. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Antonetta (Calvino) Guercia.

Archie was the founder and owner of the former Royal Auto Body Works in Providence from 1939-1984 and later worked at Delta Health Care in North Providence until 1998. He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran; an active member of the Cranston Lions Club; and was Past District Governor of RI Lions District 42.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Albert F. Guercia and his wife Linda of Cranston and Steven G. Guercia and his wife Karen of Concord, NH; loving grandfather of six; loving great-grandfather of five; and dear brother Mary Boscalia of Kennebunk, ME, Jenny Croce of Cranston and the late Flora Boscalia, Nick Guercia and Albert Guercia.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.

VISITING HOURS MONDAY MORNING 8:30-10:00 a.m.
