Peter J. Rocchio

of Cranston, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for almost 68 years of the late Marie (Christy) Rocchio. Born in Providence, Peter was the son of the late Pasquale and Otilia (D’Emilio) Rocchio.

Peter was an automotive master mechanic and was the owner of Park Ave. Gas Station, Inc. in Cranston, which earned him the love and support of his community. Peter served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant during World War II.  He was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church for 78 years where he was a member of several boards and councils of the parish and for a time served as a Eucharist Minister; and a 4th Degree Member of Cranston Council #1738 Knights of Columbus.

Peter was the devoted father of Joan-Marie Blessington of Cranston, Patricia Monroe of Glocester, Debra Veasey of West Warwick, Valerie Barber & her husband Robert, and Paul Rocchio all of Cranston, and Phillip Rocchio & his wife Lisa of Coventry. He was father of the late Ptlm. Peter A. Rocchio, PPD; and father-in-law of the late John J. "Jack" Blessington. Peter was the cherished grandfather of nineteen and loving great-grandfather of twelve. He was the dear brother of the late Bernadino, Julio and Philip Rocchio, Elizabeth Heiss and Katherine Lazarski.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, November 18th at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, 1291 Elmwood Ave., Cranston. Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
