Louis J. Cosentino, Esq.

95, of Providence passed away Wednesday November 9, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Marghuerita “Rita” (Ricci) Cosentino.

Born in Bristol he was the son of the late John and Rosalie (Brunelli) Cosentino.

Louis was a 1939 graduate of LaSalle Academy, received his PH.B. from Providence College in 1942 and his LL.B. from Boston University School of Law in 1949 being admitted to the RI Bar the same year.  He served as Legal Councel to the RI Registry of Motor Vehicles and to the former Child Welfare Services, was the former Chairman of the RI Family Court Bench Bar Committee, and Project Councel to Providence Redevelopment Agency.  He served in the US Navy in active duty for 4 years during WW-2 and the Naval Reserve from 1946 to 1970 retiring with the rank of Commander.  Louis was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church, Providence, a member and past Grand Knight, Dillon Council, Knights of Columbus, member of American Legion Post #56, Past RI State Commander of the American Legion, former member of Kirkbrae Country Club and West Palm Beach Country Club.

Besides surviving by his wife he was the father of Judith M. Cosentino of Greenacres, FL, John L. Cosentino, Esq. and his wife Sandra J. of Gunnison, CO and the late Richard C. Cosentino; grandfather of Christopher Cosentino and his wife Tatiana and Nicholas Cosentino and his wife Leitha; great grandfather of Marcus, Melana and Easton; brother of the late John R. Cosentino, Esq.; brother in law of Lena Cosentino of Providence and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10am in St. Augustine’s Church, Providence followed by burial, with military honors, in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS Friday 5-7PM at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine’s Church Memorial Fund 20 Old Rd. Providence, RI 02908 or to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, 385 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
