Kevork Moukhtarian of Seekonk, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 3, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Guline (Merdinian) Moukhtarian. Born in Zahle, Lebanon, he was the son of the late Hagop and Terfanda (Loussarian) Moukhtarian.
Kevork owned and operated Restaurant La Camilia in East Providence with his wife Guline for 32 years before retiring in 2013. He was famous for his Middle Eastern Nights where he would have live music and dancing. He truly enjoyed getting to know all his customers and treated them like family. Kevork spoke five languages and was an interpreter at the RI International Language Bank helping those in need at court proceedings, immigration issues and patients hospitalized.
He loved going for rides by the seashore, feeding ducks and getting ice-cream. He was an avid backgammon player and loved a good game of Connect Four. He enjoyed wintering in Delray Beach, FL where he was an active member of the Armenian community.
Besides his wife Guline, he was the devoted father of Hagop Moukhtarian and his wife Candace of East Providence and Garbis Moukhtarian and his wife Maria and their daughter Amber of Rehoboth, MA; and dear brother of Maryjane Demerjian of CA and the late Azniv Kermezian and Seroun Torossian.
Visiting hours are Friday, September 10th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
