Jeffrey Millard Bowden

67, of Wakefield, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Riverside, he was the eldest son of the late Irving and Carolyn (Millard) Bowden.

Jeff was a graduate of East Providence High School and earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island in 1977.  He worked in the mortgage industry for nearly forty years before retiring.

Jeff spent many years living in Narragansett with his two children, Sean J. and Caroline J. Bowden, and their mother, Sheila (Cannon) Bowden. An avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, Jeff also enjoyed spending time on the beach, sailing Narragansett Bay, and taking trips to Block Island with family and friends.

Jeff was a member of the Elks South Kingstown Chapter, and was for years a member of the Narragansett Lions Club and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.

Besides his children, Jeff also leaves two brothers, Peter A. Bowden of Wakefield and David R. Bowden of East Providence. He was predeceased by his brother Robert I. Bowden.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation www.cff.org.
