Hovnan H. Vartanian

94, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016.  He was the beloved husband of the late Adrienne (Avakian) Vartanian.  Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Haigaz and Alice-Pyloon (Sarkisian) Vartanian.

Harry was a lineman, foreman and later a supervisor for the former New England Telephone Co. before retiring; and was a WW-II U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  An avid golfer, Harry was a member of the Pawtucket Country Club for many years.

He was the devoted father of Loretta Najarian and her husband Richard of Coventry, Robert J. Vartanian and his wife Lynn of Woonsocket and Thomas H. Vartanian of Norway, ME; loving grandfather of Melissa Orlando, Thomas H. Vartanian, Jr., Brian Vartanian, Susan Vartanian, Eric Vartanian, Stephen Najarian and the late David Najarian; loving great-grandfather of nine; and dear brother of the late Sarkis H. Vartanian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, May 14th at 10 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, followed by burial with military honors at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.  VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
