Gladys E. (D'Attorro) Zabatta

of Johnston, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on Friday, July 23, 2021, while surrounded by her family at Stillwater Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Community, Smithfield. She is the beloved wife of the late Frank Zabatta.  After many years, she is finally reunited in heaven with her beloved “Frankie”. Born in Providence, RI, Gladys was the daughter of the late Ernesto D’Attorro and Marie (Grasso) D’Attorro.  After losing her father at a very young age, her mother remarried, and Gladys was raised by Marie and her step-father, the late Anthony “Dow” Restivo.  Gladys was the sister of the late John “Bob” Restivo.

For 10 years, Gladys worked as a secretary for Restivo Oil Company before retiring.  Frank and Gladys enjoyed 16 wonderful winters at their home in Del Ray Beach, FL.  She enjoyed making ceramics for herself and her family and spending time with their friends at the pool and enjoying many activities held there. She was a parishioner of St. Robert’s Bellarmine Church and a member of the Johnston Senior Center.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Carol DiPaolo and her husband, Vincent, and her son Robert F. Zabatta, and his wife, Maria, all of Johnston.  She was the cherished grandmother of Gregory DiPaolo, Jessica Accetturo, Jennifer Sevigny, and Robert M. Zabatta, as well as great-grandmother of Giavanna and Arianna Accetturo and Violet and Mason Sevigny.

Her funeral will be held on Friday July 30th, at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, R.I. followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston, RI. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS: Friday morning from 9:00–10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Bank, 1804 Atwood Ave. Johnston, RI 02919.
