Cynthia A. (Purcell) Mathers, 67, of North Stonington, CT, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 after a difficult illness.
She was the beloved wife of Steven P. Mathers, Sr. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Charles S. Purcell and the late Barbara J. (Magda) Purcell.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her children, Steven P. Mathers, Jr. and his wife Cara, Erin E. Salbaoui, Brian A. Mathers, Courtney A. Stergiou and her husband James, and her grandsons, Noah and Oliver Mathers; her siblings, Charles Purcell, Barbara Barrett, Stephen Purcell, Darryl Purcell and the late Sharon Harmon and Paul Purcell.
Cynthia graduated from Bishop Feehan High School and Bryant University with honors. She was a gifted entrepreneur, friendly, loving person. She always had a kind word, put others first, and loved her family, especially her grandchildren, which she adored and brought her an abundance of joy.
Cynthia is now in heaven but will surely be missed here on earth.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
